The following sketch is believed to have been written by Altena ERICKSEN Larsen or possibly for her by her husband Lorenzo. Original spelling and punctuation has been retained.  The original is in typescript.  There are handwritten notes at various locations in the document and they are designated by italics.  Some notes are in red while others are in black ink or pencil.  Those notes in red are colored red in the document, those in ink are bold, and those in pencil are standard italics.  Items in dark blue are links (or will be) to other documents or pictures.  Typescript by Stanley D. A brief Sketch

Trena Ericksen was born in Seerborg, Randers, Denmark, on the 20th of July 1835.  She died in Newton, Cache Co., Utah, on the 21 of Feb. 1903.

She embraced the Gospel and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in March 1861 and emigrated to Utah in 1863, crossing the plaines with oxteams in Bishop Prestons Company.

She was married in 1863 to Ludvig Ericksen in of endowment house Salt Lake City, Ut. And lived in Sanpete County.  In 1864 they were called to assist in the settlement of Circleville on the Sevier river, she being the first white woman to live in that section of country.  They remained there during the indian trouble known as Black Hawk War.

They were released in 1867 and moved to Logan, Cache County, residing in the fifth and third wards respectively.

On Feb. 16, 1876, they moved to Newton, Cache Co. where she has eversince resided.

Ludvig Ericksen, her husband, entered into polygamous marriage according to the his Church Doctrines, and during the government process of supression he moved away with his second wife and Trena Ericksen lived practically alone thereafter. Died Feb. 21, 1903 = age 67. mon day
